Reminder for High Rate Taxpayers

It does no harm to remind members of staff who are high rate taxpayers, (those earning in excess of around £40,000 per annum), that they should be including their gross Pension contributions, (including the taxman’s part), on their annual tax return as they are likely to be eligible for a tax rebate from the revenue.

If members of staff do not already receive an annual tax return, then they should request one. If this extra tax rebate has not been claimed for a number of years, all is not lost as the revenue will backdate any tax repayment.
